ARTS DEPARTMENT

1st place, Arts & the Community - Strong emphasis with good advertising of student art contest, winning entries submitted to district Arts and Crafts Festival. Performing group branch out from meetings, developed school program to teach heritage patriotic songs Collaborated in producing two community music programs. Individual member uses her crafts skills to support club financially.

RESOURCE DEPARTMENT

1st place, Resource Conservation, intermediate sized club division - Seventy-one classes supported with "Kids & Kindness" program Ink cartridge recycling program. Promoted a city e-waste collection.

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

2nd Place, Education for Life - $9,500 given in scholarships, including two re-entry and one memorial ESO section. Support of local Friends of Library. Reading in schools on Dr. Seuss Day. Cash donations in support of HS Grad Nights and continual HS's yearbook program, Related club speakers.

HOME LIFE DEPARTMENT

1st Place, Helping Hands - Multiple projects to support programs helping the less fortunate. $7,149.50 cash and in-kind donations for hot lunches, Mervyn's Kid Spree, domestic abuse shelters, blankets for trauma victims, emergency food and clothing, holiday family baskets. Helped with vision screening. Assistance to families of terminally illl children. Hurricane relief through GFWC/CFWC. Related club speakers

2nd Place, New Horizons in Health - Cancer-related projects included Relay for Life, Daffodil Days, American Cancer Society. Participated in Annual Stroll for Epilepsy. Donated used eyeglasses . Related speakers.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT

1st Place, Reaching out Internationally - Speaker on and donation to Heifer International. Participation in Sister City Organization. Donation to Child Reach for tsunami relief

PUBLIC AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT

1st Place, Citizenship - Donations to and support of Blue Star Moms plus clipping coupons for use by overseas military personnel and donation of needed items and Christmas Bags to Livermore Veteran's Hospital. Membership in and support of two local historical societies; over $4000 donated to one in support of a display. Sponsor Student Poster Art Contest for Dublin Pride Week. Participation in Sister City Program. Support of two local senior centers. Pledge of Allegiance renewed at each club meeting.

1st Place, Community Safety - Annual fundraiser generated $44, 338 used to purchase AutoPulse Resuscitation systems for three cities. W.H.A.L.E. Project participation resulted in distribution of 1685 information packets, the club also gained five new members from this promotion. Related articles in club newsletter.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

1st Place, Public Policy - Focus on communications, especially using the Internet to inform club members of any immediate action needs in public policy areas. Emphasis on Violence Against Women Act. Club meeting reports. Participants in federation workshops on resolutions and advocacy.

1st Place, Membership - Twenty members gained, four members lost. Emphasis on community visibility via participation in community events as Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival, San Ramon Art and Wind Festival, summer concerts, senior center opening. Club profiles, banners, name badges, shirts used at all activities.
