Scholarship Criteria Scholarship Application Vocational Scholarship Scholarship Letter

DEADLINE:  April 20, 2012

The GFWC Dublin/San Ramon Women’s Club provides scholarships for high school students who are pursuing a vocation or career and who have a special need because of their financial situation.  All applications will be considered, but the criteria listed will be given strong consideration in our selection, as will compliance with our deadline! April 20, 2012

  1. 2.5 g p a

  2. Must be involved in community service.
  3. Attended Valley High, California High,
    Dougherty Valley High and Venture High. 
    STUDENTS WHO LIVE IN DUBLIN OR SAN RAMON MAY APPLY,
    EVEN IF GOING TO SCHOOL ELSEWHERE.
  4. Letter of recommendation from teacher AND community member
          - (these letters may substantiate proof of need)
  5. Name of (4) yr., (2) yr., vocational college or certificate program
    you will attend
  6. Copy of most recent report card (No transcripts needed)
  7. In addition:
    1. Provide a letter of student background as a basis for selection
    2. Notification of awards night so we may make presentation
    3. Proof of registration so check may be sent to school of higher learning (Contact Scholarship Chairman or Treasurer)
    4. DEADLINE MUST BE OBSERVED!
    5. Scholarships become VOID after October 31, 2012

ARE YOU PURSUING AN ALTERNATIVE PATH TO COLLEGE ?

Career colleges, technical colleges, community colleges and vocational colleges offer degree and certificate programs directly related to preparation for specific careers such as accounting, art careers, business, graphics, culinary arts, computer careers, massage therapy, automotive training, healthcare professions, drafting design, homeland security, criminal justice, electronics, medical curricula, interior design, paralegal, interior design, MBA, office management, real estate, dental assisting, veterinary assisting and many, many more. In many instances, career colleges, technical colleges and vocational schools offer programs that can be completed in less than two years.

 Scholarships will be awarded to selected students who intend to pursue a one or two year program of study directly related to his/her vocational goal. This could include a student who is pursuing his/her vocational interests at a community college, a private proprietary school (e.g., accounting program, beauty school, culinary institute, etc.), or some other recognized program.

                DEADLINE OF MUST BE OBSERVED!

 The GFWC Dublin/San Ramon Women’s Club provides scholarships for high school students who are attending a university, community college, or vocational school and who have a special need because of their financial situation.  All applications will be considered, however, the criteria listed below will be given strong consideration in our selection:     

  1.   2.5 GPA

  2. Must be involved in community service

  3. Attend Dublin High, California High, Dougherty Valley High, Valley Christian High, Valley High, or Venture or live in the cities of Dublin or San Ramon.

  4. Letter of recommendation from a teacher and also a community member.
